Im sure most people can relate with this. One thing that Leon struggles with the most is change. Whether this be change form his usual routine, or change from where he puts his tooth brush when going to bed. Whatever it may be if something happens and he isn’t expecting it, he panics and therefore can be hard to handle.
Ill give you an example. My mum works up in London, therefore Leon was used to her ‘going on the train’ as he calls it. Then say mum came back form work and went out again, Leon would struggle because hes used to mum coming home from work and staying home. This was something that made life quite challenging sometimes, however as he has grown up he has learnt to cope with this brilliantly. As a family when he was younger we learnt to prepare him. This could man letting him know that something was going to happen that was ‘out of the orderly’ maybe even a week in advance. For example, say I was going on holiday, my parents would tell Leon a week before I did that ‘Max is going away’. This meant that when the time came, Leon was more than happy to wave me off from the window. However, if he hadn’t been prepared, the reaction may have been drastically different.
If you think about it though, most of us are like that. I for one am not a big fan of things just suddenly changing that I wasn’t aware of. Therefore, from Leon I have learnt how important communication actually is, in all aspects of life.
